Technical Sales Manager

The Technical Sales Manager position plays point in finding, qualifying, and then winning business from these target potential customers. Once established as a customer, the Technical Sales Manager role shifts more towards helping these customers succeed and identifying new opportunities for value creation. This is at the core of ‘The TRS Way,’ and the Technical Sales Manager position plays the vital role of conductor/coordinator in making ‘The TRS Way’ a reality for their customers. Job Responsibilities and Outcomes:

  • Grow TRS sales profitably by expanding TRS’s business with targeted new customers, focusing efforts based on TRS fit, customer need, and the overall profitability of opportunities

  • Generate, prioritize, and develop new customer leads, creating a solid pipeline based on a deep understanding of TRS fit, customer need, and overall profitability

  • Grow existing customer accounts through disciplined account management, consistent transparent professional reporting/communication, and subsequent identification of new opportunities to create additional value for all parties

  • Lead all internal communication and reporting related to your pipeline of accounts, ensuring customer communication coordination, production alignment, and management alignment

  • Desire and discipline to grow through sales/technical training and industry research

Skills and Competencies

  • 3+ years of sales experience or extensive technical experience (e.g. technical job management, mechanical engineering, machining, or welding) in turbine maintenance or power generation

    • Turbine repair industry experience (definitely preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

  • Expertise in CRM and data management

    • Hubspot experience (preferred)

  • Technical background in mechanical engineering, machining, or welding (preferred)

  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time to build relationships with customers
